Don Carlo

Our history

Palazzo Don Carlo has always belonged to the Prota family, from which the current property descends.

The most illustrious tenants of the house were the archpriest Carlo Prota, parish priest from 1905 to 1931 and his brothers Nicola and Vincenzo.

A young archpriest, Don Carlo played an important role in the life of Morigerati. He was active to identify the country that guarded the body of Saint Demetrius martyr of Thessalonica, Patron Saint of Morigerati.

Unfortunately, he did not succeed because he died in 1931, but opened the way to his successor, Don Giovanni, who 10 years later brought to Morigerati one of the remains of the Saint.

This relic is still kept in the church of San Demetrio.
